The annual Children’s Pet Parade, or Desafile de Los Niños, marches past the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi on Saturday. A local favorite of Fiesta de Santa Fe, which marks the 1692 Spanish recapture of the city 12 years after the Pueblo Revolt, it’s considered among the more accessible events for incorporating a universal message: the love of animals.
