Classic holiday movies dominated the Official Film Chart, the U.K.’s weekly home entertainment sales chart, through Dec. 17.
The Grinch (animated), featuring the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Seuss’s grumpy Christmas character, remained at No. 1.
At No. 2 was the Tom Hanks starrer The Polar Express, the animated adventure that follows a young boy’s Christmas Eve journey to the North Pole.
The classic Warner Christmas movie Elf, starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, Bob Newhart, and Zooey Deschanel, ranked No. 3.
At No. 4 was Universal’s Wizard of Oz-based musical Wicked, which explores the untold origins of Glinda and Elphaba.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas completed an all-Christmas top 5 for the week.
Universal’s Downton Abbey — The Grand Finale ranked No. 6. The conclusion to the Crawley family TV saga delivers refined period drama, emotional farewells and a sense of closure for long-time fans.
At No. 7 was Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth — the latest big screen spectacle showcasing dinosaur species, starring Scarlett Johansson.
Warner/Apple Studios’ F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt, ranked No. 8 featuring intense F1 motor racing sequences and behind-the-scenes drama.
Dropping to No. 9 was Signature Entertainment’s Dracula, a modern retelling of Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire story.
Finally, at No. 10 was Universal’s Bridget Jones — Mad About the Boy, the latest chapter in the “Bridget Jones” franchise, which was released in the U.S. exclusively on the Peacock streaming platform.
