This weekend’s 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will include an all-star performance honoring the late Ozzy Osbourne, featuring Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Yungblud, and Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.
According to a press release, the aforementioned musicians will be “coming together for a once-in-a-lifetime performance honoring the legendary ‘Prince of Darkness’ and metal luminary with a medley of his greatest hits.” The metal icon had a long history with MTV, including the groundbreaking reality series The Osbournes.

The VMAs will air live this Sunday (September 7th) on CBS and MTV at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from New York’s UBS Arena. LL Cool J will host the ceremony, which will also feature performances by Sabrina Carpenter, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, and more, as well as honor Mariah Carey with the Video Vanguard award.
