Brittany Mahomes couldn’t be happier for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after their engagement — just like Us.
“Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love,” Mahomes, 29, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 26, sharing the couple’s announcement, which was set to Swift’s song “So High School.”
Mahomes continued, “Just so happy for these two 🥹🤍.”
Swift and Kelce, both 35, nearly broke the internet on Tuesday with their joint Instagram reveal. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the caption read. Their announcement included various photos of the couple during what appeared to be Travis’ proposal, including a pic showing Swift’s massive Old Mine brilliant cut engagement ring.
The pair’s love story began in the summer of 2023, when Kelce famously revealed on “New Heights” that he attempted to give Swift his phone number on a friendship bracelet at one of her Eras Tour concerts in Kansas City. (Us will never forget that the now-iconic “butthurt” moment occurred during an ad read for SeatGeek.)
While the twosome didn’t cross paths at the concert, Swift and Kelce eventually connected, and she attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game that fall. Since then, she’s become a staple at Arrowhead Stadium and is often joined by Brittany — the wife of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes — in a VIP suite.
“They have a really genuine friendship and love hanging out at the games together and cheering on their men,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2024. “Brittany loves that Taylor is dating Travis, and she’s so supportive of their relationship. They have a very similar sense of humor and are always cracking jokes and laughing.”
At the time, the insider emphasized that the women didn’t only develop a friendship because of their romantic partners. “Even if things didn’t work out between Taylor and Travis, Taylor feels like her friendship with Brittany would continue no matter what,” the source told Us.
Luckily for them — and Us — Swift and Kelce have proven to be end game. Earlier this month, Swift joined her now-fiancé and his brother, Jason Kelce, on “New Heights” for an in-depth interview about life after the Eras Tour, her upcoming 12th album and, of course, her relationship with Travis.
“This podcast has done a lot for me,” Swift joked. “This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago.”

The Grammy winner went on to praise Travis’ “wild romantic gesture,” sharing her initial reaction to the shout-out that started it all.
“At first when I looked at it, I was like, ‘This dude didn’t get a meet and greet and he’s making it everyone’s problem,’” she teased. “He didn’t even reach out to our management! When this podcast came out I was like, ‘Did he ever reach out to be in the tents or did we know he was in the building?’ He came with Patrick Mahomes and he thought that because he knows the elevator lady that he could just talk to her about getting [backstage]. That’s how it works in 1973.”
Swift noted that she was impressed by Travis going public with his failed meet-cute. “This was more like I was in an ’80s John Hughes movie and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox just being like, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to date me!?’” she said. “So I was like, ‘If this guy isn’t crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about what I’ve been wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’”
