Dwayne Johnson’s disaster thriller movie, San Andreas, shook things up over at Netflix after it hit the number one spot in the streamer’s Top 10 charts on September 24, as per data recorded by FlixPatrol.
The 2016 movie was a commercial success, earning over $474 million against a budget of $110 million, and despite the mixed reviews, it was an enjoyable, guilty-pleasure type of action film that demanded a follow-up story.
With the movie surprisingly gaining traction again on streaming media, this could revive discussions for a second installment. Apparently, there was a plan for a sequel, although it fell through, and there’s no talk of it at the moment.
