Twisted Sister are ready to rock—again. The 1980s glam rockers will reunite for a tour next year to mark their 50th anniversary, the band announced in a surprise post on Instagram.
The post shared to social media announced that lead singer Dee Snider, guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, bassist Russell Pzütto, and drummer Joe “Seven” Franco will “hit stages around the world” for a reunion tour in 2026.
Snider, 70, added, “If you’re lucky enough to be in a band that people still want to see after fifty years (!), how can you not answer the call?”
The rocker, known for his wild hair and makeup in the 1980s, recently teased the possibility that something was in the works. In August, Snider replied to a fan on X who asked him about offers to do a Twisted Sister reunion.
“Mmmm… 2026 is the 50th anniversary of me, @EddieOjeda and @jayjayfrench joining forces. Seems like a good time to do something…but what?” the “We’re Not Gonna Take It” singer replied.
While Twisted Sister underwent multiple lineup changes over the years, the classic lineup featuring Snider, French, Ojeda, Mark “The Animal” Mendoza, and A. J. Pero were behind the band’s classic, MTV-era hits in the early 1980s. But the band actually formed in the 1970s.
In a press release posted on the Twisted Sister website, French recalled the exact date that Twisted Sister was formed. “Beginning on February 2nd 1976 and a little bar called the Turtleneck Inn in Hunter Mountain, NY, Dee Snider, Eddie Ojeda and I have called ourselves Twisted Sister and stood shoulder to shoulder for nearly five decades, through multiple personal changes and thousands of performances,” he wrote.
“We are proud to celebrate a milestone that once felt unthinkable: a 50-year anniversary!!” he added, “We have created a music and performance legacy that has and will continue to inspire millions of fans around the world. Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted!”
This won’t be Twisted Sister’s first anniversary tour. Soon after longtime drummer Pero died in March 2015 of a heart attack, the band announced a final tour to mark their 40th anniversary.
“It’s official: Farewell,” Snider posted on Facebook, noting that Mike Portnoy of Adrenaline Mob would replace Pero on drums.The Forty and F—k It tour ended in November 2016.
