Late country music icon Toby Keith’s son Stelen Keith Covel has announced the joyful arrival of his first child.
This week, Stelen, 28, posted on Instagram revealing the birth of his first daughter with wife Haley. The heartwarming photograph showed the newborn sleeping peacefully in bed, dressed in a white-and-pink onesie adorned with bows.
In the post, the couple disclosed they had chosen the name Millie Brooks Covel for their little one. This precious moment arrives just over a year following the death of Keith’s father Toby, who remains beloved by ’90s country music fans worldwide.
The elated parents wrote in their caption, “Millie is here [pink heart emoji]. We love you so much little girl.”
Following the birth announcement, supporters flooded the comments with heartfelt messages for the expanding family and assurances that his late father would be beaming with pride.
Yet another supporter encouragingly added, “The Big Dawg would be so proud. Congratulations to the whole Corvel family. Toby is looking down and blessing all of you.”
Throughout his lifetime, Toby and his wife Tricia Lucus brought up three children, namely Shelley Covel Rowland, Krystal Keith, and Stelen Keith Covel. Toby passed away at 62 years old while surrounded by his family.
The Beer for My Horses singer died on Feb. 4, 2024, after fighting stomach cancer. He received posthumous induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2024, having been selected for this recognition just hours after his passing.
On the first anniversary of the Should’ve Been a Cowboy performer’s passing, his son posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute honoring his father. Stelen posted, “A whole year without my hero. Here’s to one day having more of these nights. Love you dad.”
In his original memorial post, Stelen characterized his father as “the strongest man I have ever known. A fighter. A true titan of your industry. My guiding star. My coach. My hero. An embodiment of the American Spirit.”
He ended his message saying, “It’s not goodbye forever; it’s just goodbye for now. I love you cowboy.”
