Sydney Sweeney is making it clear she’s aware of people’s opinions about her.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal published on Wednesday, August 20, the 27-year-old Euphoria actress — who faced backlash for her recent advertisement with American Eagle — said, “It’s important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying.”
“Because everything is a conversation with the audience,” she noted.
The outlet also asked if the starlet was “thinking strategically,” to which she replied, “Yes, very.”
The Anyone But You star also addressed the criticism surrounding her limited-edition soap with Dr. Squatch back in May, which contained her actual bathwater.

“It was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting,” she remarked.
“They all loved the idea of Jacob Elordi’s bathwater,” Sweeney added, referring to a scene from the film Saltburn, where Barry Keogan drinks Elordi’s bathwater.
As the Enquirer previously reported, fans alleged Sweeney’s July commercial with American Eagle promoted themes of eugenics and white supremacy.
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,” Sweeney says in the video. “My jeans are blue.”
The ad ends with the phrase, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”
