Blake Lively has found herself once again on the receiving end of backlash from Justin Baldoni fans after it was announced that she would be starring in, and producing, the upcoming romantic comedy The Survival List.
On Thursday, August 21, Deadline shared a post on the outlet’s Instagram account sharing the news — and the comments section quickly flooded with remarks.
“Good luck, never going to watch anything with you in it,” wrote one person, while another added, “What kind of chokehold do Blake and Ryan [Reynolds] have on Hollywood? Seriously, it’s so baffling to me. Justice for Justin.”
A third Instagram user chimed in and wrote, “Good luck to the director dealing with her drama.”
Baldoni, 41, and Lively, 37, have been locked in a heated legal battle since the former Gossip Girl star filed a lawsuit against him in December 2024.

Lively accused him of creating a hostile work environment through sexual harassment and further claimed that he and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, had orchestrated a “social manipulation” or smear campaign aimed at destroying her reputation.
The Jane the Virgin actor later followed up with a countersuit of his own and sued Lively, Reynolds, 48, and her publicist for $400 million accusing them of extortion and defamation. Baldoni’s lawsuit was dismissed by a judge on June 9, citing legal protections for Lively’s harassment claims.
The case is scheduled to head to trial in March 2026.
