A New Sound for a Searching World

In a culture often marked by division and digital disconnection, music has long served as a common language—a powerful and timeless bridge that transcends generational and cultural lines. Few modern examples illustrate this better than James River Church, a Missouri-based congregation whose creative worship team is gaining attention for its emotionally resonant, faith-inspired music.

Their latest project, a five-track EP titled All Things New, is earning attention far beyond the Sunday morning crowd. With dynamic vocals, polished production, and an emphasis on hope and healing, the EP aims to reach listeners wherever they are—spiritually, emotionally, and geographically.

At its heart, the project is about transformation. Each track explores themes of worship, perseverance, and faith, delivering a sound that’s both grounded in scripture and appealing to the modern ear.

From Local Roots to Global Reach

James River Church has long been a spiritual anchor in the Midwest, but its worship ministry is now positioning itself on the national—and potentially global—worship stage. The first single they released in 2025, “Stronghold Walls,” was sparked by a sermon from Pastor John Lindell on Matthew 18, which inspired co-writer Eli Brown.

“It was through that message from our pastor that I recognized the authority we have in Jesus to declare victory over our lives and in our cities, which began the process of writing Stronghold Walls,” Brown said.

Driven by passionate instrumentation and powerful lyrics, the song carries a central message: obstacles—emotional, spiritual, or otherwise—can be overcome through faith in Jesus alone. This message has become deeply personal for many listeners, especially those navigating challenging times.

“People connect when music reflects what they’re going through,” one of the worship leaders shared. “We want these songs to be a soundtrack for moments of breakthrough.”

Blending Spirituality with Creative Excellence

What sets James River Worship apart is its hybrid approach: combining deep community involvement with professional-level music production. While the EP’s lyrics are rooted in biblical principles, its modern sound echoes mainstream genres, bridging spiritual expression and artistic quality.

All Things New isn’t just for church playlists or Sunday mornings. Its accessible energy have made it ideal for personal prayer times, road trips, gym headphones, social sharing, and public performance. It’s worship music without borders—songs built for connection, not just tradition.

Notably, the group avoids sacrificing artistry for message—or message for artistry. This delicate balance is key as more faith-based artists aim to cross into the wider music conversation without diluting their mission.

Creating Connection in a Broken World

The broader impact of James River Church’s worship music lies in its ability to foster community. Whether listeners are part of a faith congregation or simply searching for greater meaning through music, the EP provides an invitation to connect—both spiritually and socially.

“These songs aren’t about perfection,” a worship leader shares. “They’re about presence—being present with God, with each other, and with ourselves.”

James River Worship’s new songs are a welcome addition to the ever-evolving landscape of modern worship music and serve as a timely reminder of music’s power to heal, connect, and encourage.
