American Idol announced today that Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan would be returning as judges in Season 24, marking their sophomore outing together.

Following 15 seasons on Fox, ABC revived the singing competition series in 2018. The show began in June 2002, and it launched careers of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and many more. A different trio of judges — Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul — fronted the show at the start alongside co-hosts Ryan Seacrest and Ryan Dunkleman — who later exited. Seacrest has since shepherded the show through all of its changes.
