Selena Gomez has kicked off her wedding celebrations with a bachelorette getaway alongside her closest friends.
The Same Old Love singer, 33, took to Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 28 with photos from her last fling before the ring.
Despite some of her best friends missing out due to their own engagements, she was still all smiles during her beachside vacation, where she hinted she might be taking part in a marital custom many celebrities tend to not partake in.
Within the montage of photos, Selena is seen in an array of fitting white ensembles accessorized with a mini veil embroidered with the words, “bride to be.”
The singer was seen out of the usual bridal color during a few snaps, wearing a black tank tip with a pair of shorts.
During one snap, she posed in the get up underneath inflated silver balloons that read, “Mrs. Levin,” which is her fiancé Benny Blanco’s actual surname.
Despite the rather casual clothing and cheetos margarita glasses on the table, fans were more shocked at the idea that Selena might be trading in her infamous last name in weeks time.
Many weighed in on the matter on X, with one saying, “SELENA GÓMEZ YOU’RE NOT CHANGING YOUR LAST NAME FOR A MAN.”
Another wrote, “it’s mrs Levin in theory but it will always be Mrs Gomez, Selena Levin sounds wrong.”
Despite the banner, Selena made it very clear she wouldn’t be changing her name last year.
“I’m not changing my name no matter what,” she previously told Vanity Fair. “I am Selena Gomez. That’s it.”
This isn’t the only unconventional change she is making to her nuptials.

The couple also admitted they are possibly opting out of the bride and groom’s first dance at their wedding.
While appearing on the Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast in April, she said, “I don’t think we’re looking at having one of those ‘cause they’re a little — I feel embarrassed.”
Benny chimed in, “She’s shy.”
An insider previously told the Daily Mail that their nuptials will take place in September at a venue in Montecito, Calif. The ceremony is strictly for close friends and family.
When the plans were “leaked” a month ago, the couple still had some minor details to sort out for the big day.
“As for food, venue, who to have there, music choices – that is pretty much locked down,” they said.
At the time, the couple were allegedly “procrastinating” on the specifics like the seating chart and designated speeches.
“Everything is there, the plan just has to be put in motion,” the insider concluded. “A lot of last-minute confirmations have to be made, so some stuff might go down to the wire, but they are all confident it will go off without a hitch.”
