Chief Content Officer Scott Gimple said The Walking Dead franchise isn’t slowing down anytime soon, it’s only getting started. He recently recalled how the mainline series was originally pitched, and how that inspired their approach to the spin-off shows.
Scott Gimple said The Walking Dead universe is a single, continuous story with an ever-expanding ensemble of characters. Speaking to GamesRadar, he also hinted at more spin-offs in development. “This is all one big story, all of these spin-offs, and we want it to continue to evolve,” he said. “We want to see our classic characters. We want new, big characters that people love. We want to tell stories in different ways.
