If you’ve been engrossed in the entertainment world, chances are that you’ve been keeping your eyes glued to the 2025 Emmys. While everyone is focused on who will win the most: Severance or White Lotus, many fans focused on something else: Reba McEntire just made her first outing after the death of her ex-stepson, Brandon Blackstock.
As many may not know, McEntire used to be married to Narvel Blackstock, Brandon’s father, but they divorced in 2015. However, they all remained close, and even said Brandon and his siblings were her “blood,” per Entertainment Tonight in 2021. He tragically passed away on August 7, 2025, from skin cancer, and weeks later, McEntire stepped out into the spotlight..

In case you missed it, McEntire attended the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards alongside her longtime love, Rex Linn. (And per EOnline, they’re actually engaged now!) You can see the photos below:

As you can see, she’s come out with her longtime partner, celebrating her fellow actors, and looking great doing it. And as we said, it’s been a little over a month since Brandon’s death, and this marks a big moment for her to come out.
Toward the end of Brandon’s life, McEntire “spent more time with the Blackstock crew,” per Us Weekly. “They really came together,” said a source. And now, it seems she’s working hard to get back out there!
