Comedian and TV host Zane Lamprey has laughed and drank his way across the globe, learning how people from Belgium to Belize celebrate their cultures with a buzz through his shows “Three Sheets” on the Travel Channel, “Have Fork, Will Travel” on the Food Network and “Four Sheets” on Amazon Prime.
And 8-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, he’ll get a taste of Somerville’s own beer-friendly flair when he brings his new “Another Round” national stand-up comedy tour to Village Brewing Company on Werst Main St.
The interactive, spirited show will be packed with the quick wit that has made Lamprey the go-to man for exploring the world with a smile, bar by bar, but with a more personal edge.

“It’s a fun night of crazy stories, talking with the crowd and laughing until our faces hurt,” Lamprey said. “I talk about my wife. I talk about the stupid things that I do, that I think a lot of men do. When those two things intersect, that’s comedy. It’s just about taking off the edge and accelerating a friendship. After one of my shows, the audience feels closer to each other.”
Feeling closer to his audience is one of the reasons why Lamprey launched his stand-up comedy tour, which is taking place at bars and clubs all over America, including at Bolero Snort Brewery in Carlstadt on Sept. 28.
“When I was doing my television, there was no connection to the audience,” he said. “I’d shoot an episode and it would come out months later. With a stage, it’s an electricity that you just can’t get from television.”

General admission tickets are available on Eventbrite for about $29 per person, while VIP tickets – which include a VIP experience with Lamprey, beer and his favorite drinking games – are about $45 per person.
“I wasn’t getting enough time to just hang out at my shows and meet people,” Lamprey said. “So, I added a section of the night for when the VIPs get there a little early to talk with them, joke around and play some drinking games. It really is my favorite part of the night.”
