STORRS — A Hungarian pianist will take the stage at the Jorgensen Center later this month as the first concert in the 2025-2026 Lenard Chamber Music Series.
Pianist Valentin Magyar will perform on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are still on sale for the concert.
Magyar, a 24-year-old musician, started playing the piano at the age of five in his native town of Balassagyarmat in Northern Hungary.

In 2024, Magyar made his debut in China with a solo and orchestral performance in Shanghai and Suzhou. He has also performed in recitals in Brazil, Serbia, Romania, England, and Hungary.
Magyar’s second CD features the work of Liszt and Schubert and will be released later this year.
The performance on Sept. 23 will include works by Franck/Bauer, Schubert, and Liszt.
