Hallmark is already frosting the windows — and now one of the iconic channel’s alums is sprinkling in some behind-the-scenes snow.
On Friday, September 19, Laura Vandervoort took to TikTok with a sneak peek at her upcoming holiday romance, Melt My Heart This Christmas, co-starring Stephen Huszar.
In the clip, the cameras are rolling on a cozy front-porch scene decked out with wreaths, twinkling lights, and fake snow. A voice off-screen shouts, “Action!” as Huszar, 41, leans in toward Vandervoort, 40, who’s bundled in a long red coat.
Just as they go in for the kiss, the same voice yells, “Snow!” — and a flurry of “movie magic” crashes down from above. Vandervoort squeals, Huszar laughs, and the two break into giggles as they shake off the frosty surprise. The director then calls for a quick reset, asking Vandervoort to flip her scarf over her shoulder, while the crew members holding the makeshift snow rig scurry out of frame.
Shortly after posting, it didn’t take long for fans to flood the comments section.
“Is it cheesy? Yes, is it predictable also yes will I devour this 💯,” one person wrote.
“I can’t wait to eat up EVERY second of this,” another added.
“Truly looking forward to seeing this. What a fun preview,” chimed in a third.
That same day, the Smallville alum doubled down on the holiday hype by sharing the official poster on Instagram. The promo shows Vandervoort in a red dress, holding an ornament beside Huszar against a backdrop of Christmas décor. In her caption, she let fans in on a few filming secrets, including the fact that they shot the movie in minus-30 degree weather during a real blizzard. “There was no acting involved for being cold,” she joked, admitting her mouth nearly froze shut mid-dialogue.
Vandervoort also revealed a “fun fact” — her character is a glass blower, so she took a crash course in the craft with director Amy Force the very day she landed on set.
She wrapped her note by praising the cast, “our hardworking & talented crew in Ottawa,” and signing off with a promise that the film — which also stars Jennifer Wigmore and Madeline Leon — will be worth the wait when it premieres November 23 on Hallmark Channel as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas lineup.
