Here’s where you can celebrate Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ all weekend long in Houston

The “Showgirl” era is upon us.

Taylor Swift’s 12th album is out this week, and Houston is pulling out all the stops to celebrate. And by stops we mean karaoke, cocktails and costume contests. Seriously, the entire city will be dressed in feathers and sequins.

“The Life of a Showgirl” officially drops at 11 p.m. Thursday on digital streaming platforms. Several Target stores will be staying open late for Swifties to pick up physical copies. And “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” will be in movie theaters this weekend.

Before, during and after you hear the music, here’s where to shimmy and shake in and around Houston.

Thursday

Karaoke and listening party: Sing your heart out to “Cardigan” and “Shake it Off” before an album listening party. “Swift Swag” for the early birds. “Eras-inspired” outfits are encouraged. 7:30 p.m. at Lucy Blue’s, 711 Madeley, Conroe; free.

Taylor Swift Fandemonium Listening Party: Radio station KRBE (104.1 FM) hosts a release party that will include a live broadcast and giveaways. 8 p.m. at Unicorn Disco, 2416 Brazos; free.

Cocktails, costumes and drag: This listening party will feature Swift music up through the new album release, along with a costume contest, themed drinks, a permanent jewelry station and performance by drag queen Dessie Love Blake. 8 p.m. at Shamrocks Pub & Grill, 228 1st Street E., Humble; $15 online.

Listening party: Before the album drops, enjoy Tay’s biggest hits, themed cocktails, a “Showgirl” photo station and more. There will also be Taylor-inspired merch, karaoke and a costume contest. 8 p.m. at Dan Electro’s, 1031 E. 24th St.; $26 and up online.

Sparkly drinks and pajamas: Come in your pajamas to enjoy sparkly drinks, a coffee bar, sweet treats and a friendship bracelet station ahead of the album drop. 10:30 p.m. at Woodson’s 1488, 2330 FM 1488, The Woodlands; free.

Friday

Floral + Friendship Bracelet Workshop: “The Life of a Showgirl”-inspired bracelet making and floral workshop inspired by the album cover. Because why not? 4-6 p.m. at Bloom, 9655 Katy Fwy.; $125 includes all supplies.

Swifties in Sugar Land: This “Showgirl”-inspired celebration will include album-inspired merch, personalized embroidery, live T-shirt pressing, on-site hair tinsel styling, friendship bracelet-making, mocktails inspired by the album and lots more. 6-9 p.m. at Sugar Land Town Square Plaza, 2711 Plaza Dr., Sugar Land; free.

Pizza, friendship bracelets and sourdough: Listen to the new album over a three-course pizza dinner that includes wine, a regular pizza, Funfetti dessert pizza, Funfetti sourdough loaves friendship bracelets and more. 6-9 p.m. at Pizaro’s Pizza Napoletana, 1000 West Gray; $89 for two people.

Release party: Photo ops, glitter bar, themed drinks, heart-shaped pizza and local vendors. 7 p.m. at Ale & Ivy, 305 Sawdust Rd., Spring; free.

Swiftie Singo Bingo: Taylor-themed singo (music bingo) with prizes that include a YSL bag and “Showgirl” vinyl. 7 p.m. at McIntyre’s Heights, 1230 West 20th; $20 includes five bingo cards.

Taylor Rave: A Night of Taylor remixes and edits, from classics to the new album. No one else. 9 p.m. at Rich’s, 2401 San Jacinto; $7.50 and up online.

Rooftop listening party: Trivia, cocktails, a friendship bracelet making station, gift bag raffle and a showgirl costume contest. 11 p.m. at Rooftop Cinema Club Uptown, 1700 Post Oak, fifth level; $20 online.

Saturday

Swiftie Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast with other Swifties, photo ops, friendship bracelets and more. Come in your favorite Swiftie gear or PJs. Reservations are encouraged. 8:30 a.m. at Saltgrass Kemah Boardwalk, 215 Kipp Ave.

The Party of a Showgirl: 22 & good 4 u, a DJ-dance party brand for fans of Taylor Swift and similar artists, hosts a live burlesque show, featuring local performers and traveling showgirls performing to the new album. Plus, dance to all the hits and deep cuts. 8 p.m. at Bad Astronaut, 1519 Fulton; $17 online.

Karaoke and listening party: Sing along with other Swifties to hits and “Showgirl” songs. 9 p.m. at O’Brian’s Icehouse & Full Bar, 420 TX-3, League City; free.

Sunday
