Rashed Singaby and Amy Chase have been promoted to director roles to support the practice’s continued growth and evolution.

HOK’s Sports + Recreation + Entertainment (SRE) practice announced the promotion of two exceptional, long-tenured staff to firmwide leadership: Rashed Singaby will join Nate Appleman, Shannon Bartch and John Rhodes as a director. Amy Chase will be the practice’s new director of strategic development. Together, the leadership team will continue to expand and grow the practice responsible for designing some of the most innovative new sports and entertainment venues around the world.

Reflecting an increased commitment to the practice’s global footprint, John Rhodes’ title will be director of Sports + Recreation + Entertainment – International. He will continue to cultivate relationships and build work across the UK, MENA, Asia and South America.

“The addition of Rashed and Amy to our practice leadership will allow us to continue to anticipate and meet the diverse needs of our sports clients in this dynamic market. These moves are in line with our firmwide vision to lead with design, and to develop strategies that will continue to put us at the forefront of Sports and Entertainment projects,” said Eli Hoisington, AIA, LEED AP, HOK’s co-CEO. “I’m also extremely happy to be able to recognize John Rhodes’ expanded role to best support our people globally, facilitating opportunities to work collaboratively across locations to deliver the most forward-looking projects and take on new international opportunities.”

Rashed Singaby, AIA, has more than two decades of experience leading the design of prominent sports and entertainment facilities across three continents. Based in Denver, his deep understanding of community-centric design solutions and ability and commitment to capturing each client’s unique vision, cultural and aspirations is evident in his project work. He is adept at leading complex design teams and client groups to create tailored, revenue-generating solutions that best serve cities, teams and fans. Rashed is the lead designer of Etihad Park, the new home of MLS champions New York City FC. In addition to providing creative leadership on projects, as a director, he will focus on advancing the practice’s design across all venue types, growing and expanding its profile, and mentoring design staff.

Based in Kansas City, Amy Chase has nearly 25 years of experience at HOK, most recently as marketing principal. Her deep knowledge and expertise in sports marketing and business development have been critical to winning many of the practice’s most significant projects, including Rogers Place in Edmonton; Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta; and Etihad Park in New York City. In her new role, Amy will support the continued strategic growth of the Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice globally through pursuits and partnerships.

In addition to Singaby and Chase’s promotions, the practice has announced several additional strategic hires in the last six months. Doug Barraza returned to HOK as a regional leader based in Kansas City. Barraza has more than 35 years of experience designing award-winning projects including master plans, stadiums and arenas, athletic training facilities, and recreation and wellness centers. Scott Schiamberg joined the firm as a regional leader in New York, overseeing the firm’s Northeast SRE practice. A renowned architect and planner, he brings decades of experience working with professional and collegiate sports teams on the planning and design of transformative stadiums.
