On Friday, Selena Gomez sent her followers into a frenzy with an Instagram Story from what looks like the set of a new music video. In the image, Gomez is wearing a black sleeveless leather tunic with a turtleneck and visible seams forming a pattern down her torso. Her hair is slicked back with a side part in a “wet” style, and she’s wearing a sultry makeup look with smokey eyes and dark red lipstick lined in black.
The singer’s mirror selfie showed off her blood red manicure and an array of silver rings with a matching bangle. Over the image, Gomez wrote, “Another music video, another song.”
Gomez released an album with her husband, Benny Blanco, earlier this year titled I Said I Love You First. However, it may be that she is filming visuals for her soon-to-be-released track “In the Dark” from the Nobody Wants This season 2 soundtrack. The popular Netflix show stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell as two older people navigating love through both cultural and personality differences.
It has been a busy week for Gomez, who was just in Washington, D.C. for Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. While being interviewed by Fortune’s Ellie Austin, Gomez was asked about her friendship with fellow pop star Taylor Swift. Reflecting on what the pair have “taught” each other, Gomez called Swift “one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met.”
“She is very strong in her lane, and she gives great advice all the time,” Gomez continued. “I’m not sure what I would say I’ve done for her other than been there as a friend, but one thing that stuck out to me, and I’ll always remember it, but she said, ‘If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.’ And that’s why I surround myself with really incredible people. There’s no dumb questions; you have to learn and not be afraid of all the things that you might lose out on.”
