SEVENTEEN has already built one of the most impressive Billboard chart histories among K-pop groups. And now, the act’s newest sub-group is making its own mark.
CxM, the latest sub-group from SEVENTEEN — comprised of members S.COUPS and MINGYU — hits multiple Billboard charts for the first time this week thanks to its first EP, CxM: 1st Mini Album ‘Hype Vibes.’ Released to digital platforms Sept. 29 via PLEDIS/Geffen/Interscope Capitol, the set launches at No. 2 on the World Albums chart and No. 71 on the Billboard 200 with 13,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate, following its physical release Oct. 10. Nearly all of that total is from pure album sales, as the set also opens at No. 5 on Top Album Sales.

The EP also propels CxM to No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart. The pair is the fifth act to launch atop the list in 2025, after ZEROBASEONE in April, Calum Hood in June, Vulfpeck in July and Geese two weeks ago.
In the K-pop world, a sub-group (or sometimes called a “sub-unit”) refers to a spinoff project formed within a larger group, allowing select members to explore a different musical concept while maintaining ties to the main act. So, while S.COUPS and MINGYU are following a new avenue with CxM, they’re still members of SEVENTEEN.
CxM becomes the third SEVENTEEN sub-group to appear on Billboard‘s charts. BSS (short for BooSeokSoon, comprised of members DK, HOSHI and SEUNGKWAN) has charted five tracks on the World Digital Song Sales chart, dating to 2018, and two on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Plus, HxW (featuring members HOSHI and WOOZI) charted one entry on World Digital Song Sales in March (“96ers” reached No. 9).
Another SEVENTEEN offshoot, JxW (the duo of JEONGHAN and WONWOO), launched in 2024.
As a group, SEVENTEEN has charted nine projects on the Billboard 200, including seven top 10s. The group has also charted 21 titles on World Albums, including 11 No. 1s — the fourth-most in the chart’s history. The act has sent 49 songs onto World Digital Song Sales, also the fourth most.
Several other K-pop groups and their sub-units have made an impact on Billboard’s charts. NCT, for example, has charted three albums on the Billboard 200, while its sub-groups NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U and WayV have all made individual chart impacts with their own projects.
