From Taylor Swift’s “surprise songs” on the Eras Tour to Role Model’s various “Sallies,” the stars are having all kinds of fun with their concert bits these days. One of the best? Sabrina Carpenter’s fake celebrity “arrests,” which have been an ongoing, headline-grabbing stunt throughout her Short n’ Sweet Tour.
No, the Grammy winner isn’t actually booking anybody, but right before she performs her tracks “Juno,” Carpenter turns the crowd’s attention to one starry guest in attendance, who she “arrests” for being too hot.
Each time, she pulls out a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs, as a wink to one of the lines in “Juno”: “You make me wanna make you fall in love / Oh, late at night, I’m thinking ’bout you / Wanna try out my fuzzy pink handcuffs?”
Since last fall, Carpenter has incorporated a slew of celebrities, from her collaborator Jack Antonoff and his wife, Margaret Qualley, to friends like Millie Bobby Brown and Gigi Hadid.

Anne Hathaway
To kick off her second leg of New York City shows, Carpenter “arrested” Anne Hathaway, who pretended like she was her Princess Diaries character, Mia Thermopolis, the Princess of Genovia.
When asked where she was from, Hathaway joked: “Genovia.” To which Carpenter responded, “Has anyone ever told you that you look like a princess? I’m in the presence of a princess, I’m getting so flustered.”
Marcello Hernandez
In honor of her stint on Saturday Night Live, Carpenter brought out cast member Marcello Hernandez to play his beloved character Domingo—a womanizing bachelor who famously ad-libs to the tune of Carpenter’s hit, “Espresso,” in a popular skit.
“Is there anything you want to say before I arrest you, Domingo?” Carpenter asked the comedian. In response, Hernandez put on his best husky voice and sang: “Came all this way / Had to explain / Direct from Domingo / Sabrina’s a friend / She’s like my sis / But I would hook up though.”
Gigi Hadid
Fresh off her runway walk at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Gigi Hadid made a surprise appearance at the Short n’ Sweet Tour in Pittsburgh.
Carpenter directed her audience’s attention to the model, who she called a “gorgeous girl.” Then, when Hadid noted she was from Buck’s County, the singer revealed she was from a similar area.
“Wow, maybe we are soulmates!” Carpenter joked. “Gigi, I’m getting so hot and flustered.”
Emma Bunton
On night one of the London leg of her Short n’ Sweet Tour, Carpenter brought out a British pop icon—Emma Bunton—AKA “Baby Spice” from the Spice Girls.
“You’re kind of, like, spicing up my life a little,” Carpenter said to Bunton as she “arrested” her during the show. “Emma, would you please do me the honors of being mine forever?”
Joe Keery
Dating rumors began to fly when Stranger Things star Joe Keery made an appearance at one of Carpenter’s Austin shows, where the chemistry between them was palpable.
“It’s actually cuffing season, I don’t know if you knew that,” Carpenter said to the actor as he excitedly held out his wrists. “You seem very eager, actually.”
As she handed him the fuzzy pink cuffs, Carpenter managed to sneak in a small political reference: “You’re the one. We did it, Joe.”
Millie Bobby Brown
Keery wasn’t the only Stranger Things actor who took part in Carpenter’s kinky tradition.
At one of her Atlanta shows, the “Please Please Please” singer pulled out Keery’s costar, Millie Bobby Brown, who was “arrested” in front of crowds of screaming fans.
Of course, Carpenter didn’t miss the opportunity to make a pun about Brown’s TV show. “Millie, you know, I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before,” she said. “But stranger things have happened.”
Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley
While on tour in Los Angeles, Carpenter did double duty by arresting both Jack Antonoff and his wife, Margaret Qualley.
It made sense to see the two at the show, given that Carpenter has collaborated with Antonoff on a number of her hits, from “Please Please Please” to “Manchild” and “Busy Woman.”
However, she turned most of her attention to Qualley, saying things like: “I think that Margaret and Sabrina are good names to be in a relationship together.”
