Allevity expands in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

For more than five years, Allevity Entertainment has been a popular destination in Aberdeen. Now a recent “exciting expansion” aims to make the overall experience even better.

The biggest addition to the facility, per manager David Novstrup, is the full-service restaurant and bar, featuring 15 big-screen televisions and a 20-foot sports ticker, to allow guests to enjoy food while keeping up with all the action. Along with this expansion, Allevity upgraded its menu to include items like flatbreads and smash burgers, among other options. Four brand-new arcade games — Fast and the Furious, Goatz N Ropes, Wicked Tuna and Quarterback Pro — aim to bring more fun and variety for guests.

“Overall, the expansion allows us to offer a more complete entertainment experience for families, groups and adults alike,” Novstrup told the Aberdeen News. “Some of the biggest highlights at Allevity are the variety and energy of the experience. Guests can jump into laser tag, mini bowling, bumper cars, jumbo foosball, and our huge arcade; there’s truly something for everyone. We also have a full-service restaurant and sports bar with great food, big-screen TVs, and a 20-foot sports ticker, so it’s just as fun to relax as it is to play.”

Novstrup has been the manager of Allevity Entertainment since its February 2020 opening.

“We love hosting group outings — everything from company team-building events to youth groups and family reunions — and we offer specials and unique events throughout the year,” he said. “There’s always something new happening, so we encourage people to follow us on Facebook or join our newsletter to stay up to date.”

Allevity is family owned and not part of a franchise or national company. The owners are Al and Kathy Novstrup, along with David Novstrup and his wife, Holly Novstrup. Al and Kathy Novstrup — David’s parents — also started Thunder Road at Wylie Park in 1994 with David’s uncles, John and Scott Sperry.

“We want to thank the community for their incredible support over the past five and a half years,” Novstrup said. “It’s been amazing to be part of so many great memories with families, friends and coworkers here in Aberdeen. We’re always looking for new ways to make each visit fun and affordable, too, like our daily specials…for example, every Wednesday, all arcade games are half price.”

During the school year, Allevity’s hours are 3:30-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Friday opening fluctuating between noon and 3 p.m., depending on whether Aberdeen schools have school or not. The business closes at midnight on Fridays. Saturday hours are 11 a.m. until midnight with Sunday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. During the summer, Allevity opens earlier on weekdays. The business adjusts its hours for Christmas, spring breaks and other holidays. Those are updated on the website at www.allevity.fun.
