Prince George appeared to be preparing for his future role as king as he stepped in for his father Prince William at the Festival of Remembrance.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, the 12-year-old made a surprise appearance at the Royal British Legion’s annual event alongside his other family members like his mother Kate Middleton, King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
One of the most noteworthy members of the British Royal Family missing in action was the future heir, William, who had just returned from a solo royal appearance of his own.
As George joined his mother, he was suited up in a black tuxedo with a white button down shirt and a striped tie.
As for the dashing princess, Kate was dressed in a black dress that featured shoulder pads and a white lapels lined with lace.
The family’s outing comes just days after William, Kate and their kids moved from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge.
The family of five, including George’s siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have lived in Adelaide Cottage for about three years.
A source told The Sun their move acts as a “fresh start.”
“Over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times,” a source shared. “Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.
“This is a move for the long-term. They see it as their forever home.”
