LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – I am going to be completely transparent, sometimes this job moves entirely too fast for this 40-something with adhd and a healthy yearn to screw off from time to time. Sometimes, I look up and half of the month is already gone, and I haven’t debuted the artist of that particular month. Not only that, while I am aware of and at the very least acquainted with many area artists… There seems to be less time in the day than I need to contact and schedule any of them to come and talk to me. Then, sometimes, I get bailed out by an incredibly gifted, talented, gracious up-and-coming musician from right here in the Coulee region.
When the person who would become the November 2025 La Crosse Community Theatre Artist of the Month contacted me (yes, SHE contacted me… because I, again, am not very good at my job), she just wanted to see if I would take a listen to her new single. What I heard was an earnest and bright songwriter with a beautiful and soulful tone to her voice. What I saw was a woman in touch with the journey she has been on thus far, with a desperate need to share her perspective with anyone who will listen. What I was given was the opportunity to meet yet another wildly talented artist who calls Western Wisconsin home.
Please allow me to introduce the November 2025 La Crosse Community Theatre Artist of the Month, Allison Sky….
Born and raised in the Coulee region, she has been writing songs all of her life, but just recently started sharing them with “the world. She has been playing all over the area (and some places that are more than a lengthy drive away), chasing this need to share her art with humanity. Her songs are relatable and catchy… toe-tappingly sweet and meaningful… and come from an honest and heartfelt place. She has the kind of sound that catches your ear and the kind of talent and demeanor that keeps your heart listening.
I had the absolute pleasure of talking with Allison and having her play a couple of songs in the studio. Over the next month, we will share those with you, my friends. For now, visit the Allison Sky Music website and take in the magic of her talents for yourself.
