Fort Worth native Josh Weathers has been named the Texas Country Music Association’s 2025 Entertainer of the Year, earning recognition for his powerhouse vocals and genre-blending performances that have made him a standout in Texas music.
The award was presented Sunday, November 9, at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth during the association’s annual ceremony.
Weathers, known for his mix of country, soul, gospel, funk, and rock influences, built his following through high-energy live shows and authentic storytelling. His biography describes him as possessing “a kind of magic that lives somewhere between the Fort Worth Stockyards and Muscle Shoals.”
Weathers first gained national attention in 2017 after performing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” at President Donald Trump’s inaugural Armed Services Ball — a performance that went viral and introduced him to audiences beyond Texas.
After stepping back from touring, Weathers and his wife launched humanitarian missions to combat human trafficking and provide shelter for children in India and El Salvador. He later returned to the stage with what he described as “a deeper purpose and renewed conviction.”
Now signed to Nashville’s Sea Gayle Music, Weathers continues to write and perform songs grounded in faith and traditional country storytelling. His latest recognition as Entertainer of the Year cements his place among Texas’ most dynamic and enduring musicians.
