Lisa Cloud, mother of Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, filed a new lawsuit on Nov. 5 against a Sacramento law firm. The civil complaint alleges that attorneys Michael Hackard, Brian Geremia, and their firm Hackard Law allegedly “filed false and frivolous claims” against Angus’ estate, “generating attorney’s fees and extracting settlement,” causing “emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, panic attacks, and prolonged grief.” Lisa claimed she has been forced to spend more than $64,000 in legal fees defending the estate of her only child, whose assets totaled around $50,000.

“This case is about accountability and fairness,” Lisa told PEOPLE exclusively. “My goal has always been to protect my son’s legacy and the integrity of his estate from wrongful legal actions that caused unnecessary harm and distress… I have a great respect for the court system and for the many honest attorneys who work with compassion and integrity. I simply believe no family should have to endure this kind of abuse of process after losing a loved one. I’m seeking resolution and dignity, truth and respect.”

In the lawsuit, Lisa, 65, accused the defendants of fraud, elder abuse, malicious prosecution, and intentional infliction of emotional distress from what she alleges was a predatory legal campaign from the attorneys representing a man, Jonathan Kim, who claimed to be Angus’ “personal assistant.”

According to the filing, Kim claimed that the Euphoria star owed him more than $310,000 in unpaid wages; however, Lisa alleges Kim’s assertion was “entirely fabricated,” citing as evidence the other assistants Angus had on payroll during the same period and that Kim had no employment records, wage documentation, contracts, or tax forms as proof of debt to support his claims. She also claims Kim was banned from Angus’ entourage after a public altercation.

“Geremia and his partners agreed to represent Mr. Kim who had no evidence to support he was employed by decedent and no investigation as to whether his claim was supported by law and evidence,” Lisa claimed in a letter to the judge in March. “He also submitted false evidence to show this client was entitled to commissions of $195,000 by verbal agreement.”

Kim’s original demand for the money was rejected in February 2024, as was his following civil suit later that year.

The lawsuit also claimed that Kim’s firm “breached confidentiality” by sharing a private letter Lisa had sent to the attorneys. Lisa alleges that Kim then sent her threatening messages. “[It] caused Plaintiff to fear for her physical safety,” the complaint reads.

Best known for his breakout role as Fezco, a drug dealer with a heart of gold, on Euphoria, Angus died in July 2023 at 25 years old. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office later revealed that the actor died of an accidental overdose, discovering a mix of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and benzodiazepines in his system at the time of his death.

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson previously shared that he staged multiple interventions for Angus, even getting HBO to pay for a 30-day inpatient rehab program, with three additional months of outpatient treatment, due to the young actor’s drug addiction struggles.

Lisa previously shared that her son battled for years against chronic pain from an injury sustained to his head as a child. In the year before his death, he also injured his ankle, and in May 2023, his father died just three months after being diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer.
