Sarah Ferguson does not want to exit the UK after Royal Family removed her safety cushion.
The former wife of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who lives with him at the Rogal Lodge, wants to stay close to Windsor area even after her exile.
A source close to Fergie told The Times: “She wants to stay in the UK, ideally in the Windsor area, and she wants to have her own base so that she can live independently and continue to pursue many things as Sarah Ferguson.”
This comes amid rumours that Fergie will instead move to Portugal.
It is revealed that she is waiting to move to a £3.6 million villa in Portugal that is owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and her businessman husband Jack Brooksbank.
The banishment came days after an email between her and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to public.
In the email, Fergie said: “You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.
In response to the emails, her spokesperson previously said: “This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”
This comes as a spokesperson of Fergie told People: “She is assessing a number of options currently, and no final decision has been made.”
