Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan made headlines last May when he announced that they were getting a divorce.
They closed out 2025 in the headlines again, after Allen took to social media with a claim about why it all came to an end.
“To set the record straight … my ex had an affair on ME, and that was why we got divorced,” he wrote on Instagram. “I found out in the fall of 2024, and that it was happening behind my back in my home. I was already unhappy as she did not support my sobriety and was obviously trying to hide something, but this gave me a reason to move on. Today I’m 19 months sober, newly engaged and truly happy.”
Allen shared on Christmas a photo of himself on a knee asking his girlfriend, Renee, to marry him.
“SHE SAID YES!” he wrote.
He also said she approved his in-depth post about his split with Morgan.
“As most of you know, in May, I publicly shared my divorce with me ex,” he wrote. “However, there’s much more to the story I had initially decided not to share. At the time, it was important to me to take the high road and simply try to find healing and peace.
“Unfortunately, I’ve had to sit back and quietly watch my ex run my name through the mud, sharing songs on social media that falsely depicted me as a bad husband with a ‘black heart,’” he added. “If you know me, you know how well I treated her, but I continued to stay quiet.”
Allen wrote that after announcing his engagement to Renee he was “shocked to read a handful of judgmental comments.” He then laid out a timeline that he said led to the split.
“Making this post was difficult, but it had to be done,” Allen added. “If you leave a negative comment, you will be blocked. To the rest of the beautiful souls who follow and support our journey … Y’ALL ROCK.”
Morgan appeared to address Allen’s post with a photo of herself with her new boyfriend and his baby to her Instagram stories and wrote, “After years of therapy, I learned how to choose peace amongst others projected self-deflecting chaos. Took me a long time & still learning. #youcanthurtmeanymore.”
Allen and Morgan began dating in 2015, and were married in 2022. They separated in October of 2024, and she filed for divorce on Valentine’s Day this year with everything finalized on May 22.
Allen was the first to announce it.
“It’s with peace in my heart that I feel it’s time to share this,” he wrote on Instagram in May. “Kylie and I separated 6 months ago and made the decision to get divorced.
“I’ve been on a journey of sobriety, healing, growing, leaning into God and I’ve moved on,” he added. “I will always care for Kylie & wish her the best … GOD’S PLAN IS GREATER. *Proverbs 3:5-6”
