When The Way Home first premiered on Hallmark in 2023, fans were intrigued by a story about three generations of women who discover their family’s past through a magical pond that allows them to time-travel. With Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow leading the series, viewers loved the twists and turns in their personal lives. And fans have been eagerly awaiting new episodes, with season 4 in the works.
Well, in November 2025, People devastated fans by revealing The Way Home would end on Hallmark after season 4. But with that came a caveat, as The Way Home season 4 will premiere in March 2026 on Hallmark.
“Fans of The Way Home have enthusiastically watched and rewatched every episode since the first pond jump of season 1 as they’ve tried to piece together the brilliant puzzle Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marly Reed expertly crafted,” said Samantha DiPippo, SVP of programming at Hallmark Media, in a statement to the outlet about the series. “We’re grateful to our talented cast led by Andie [MacDowell], Chyler [Leigh], Evan [Williams] and Sadie [Laflamme-Snow], as well as our amazing writers and crew who have worked so hard on this show.”
When fans learned about The Way Home’s future, they were understandably heartbroken.
“Sad sad deeply sad new Now we have to wait until March on top of this being the series finale 😭😭,” one user wrote on Reddit. “I did not need another exercise in handling grief and loss,” another agreed. “Damn, another one of my favorites is leaving,” a different follower added.
Andie expressed her thoughts in a Facebook post, speaking out about the show’s impact on her.
“That’s a wrap #TheWayHome,” she wrote on November 28. “So much gratitude for the beautiful people I worked with and the kindness I received. We had four wonderful seasons! I’m looking forward to watching the fourth season with all of you!”
We’ll definitely miss The Way Home after its final episode in 2026.
