Dropkick Murphys are releasing the anti-I.C.E. song “Citizen I.C.E.” as part of a new tour-only split LP with fellow Boston band Haywire titled New England Forever.
“Citizen I.C.E.” is a reworking of the Dropkick’s 2005 song “Citizen C.I.A.” Performed live during the band’s Fall 2025 European tour, the reworking melds the original’s surging arrangement with lyrics that don’t pull punches: “Too scared to join the military/ Too dumb to be a cop/ Citizen I.C.E.” Haywire also lend a hand and are featured on the track.

Last week, DKM released a video featuring the studio version of the song on Instagram, drawing attention to the tragic killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, New England Forever sees DKM and Haywire contributing three original songs each, as well as a cover of a song by the other group: Haywire taking on Dropkick Murphys’ “The Boys Are Back” and Dropkick Murphys covering Haywire’s “Always By My Side.”
The split will be available exclusively at shows during Dropkick Murphys’ upcoming US tour with Haywire. Dates kick off February 9th in Portland, Maine, and lead up to DKM’s St. Patrick’s Day residency shows at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. Get tickets here.
