On Friday, Selena Gomez shared a rare makeup free selfie, showing off her bare glowing skin.
The Only Murders in the Building star was seated and leaning against her hand, wearing a white tank with her hair slicked back. She smiled gently at the camera, looking luminous with no makeup on. Behind her, a soft rose background complimented the casual look.
The Rare Beauty founder shared a very different look a day earlier from her Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Powdered Bronzer launch party, in which she has on full glam with dramatic eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, and glittering eye shadow. Her hair was styled with a “wet” look and she wore a dark sleeveless top.
In a 2024 interview with Cosmopolitan, Gomez talked about establishing Rare and her approach to makeup.
“I’ve always loved makeup but my relationship with makeup and beauty has really evolved over the years,” she shared. “At a certain point, I was struggling with comparing myself to everyone else but I’ve learned that there’s so much beauty in what makes us unique.”
The I Said I Love You First singer also described what her go-to look is, which is somewhere in between a bare face and a full beat.
“It really depends on my mood or where I’m going but my easy go-to is a red lip,” she explained. “It feels like an instant way to create an elevated look.”
Rare Beauty has been an opportunity for the pop star to talk about and think about beauty, and she expressed she was “very excited” to “help shape the conversations we have.”
“I’m not here to compete with anyone,” Gomez continued. “I started Rare Beauty with the hope of creating a brand that could make a difference. My goal has always been that we could have open, vulnerable conversations about beauty and mental health and how they’re connected.”
