Detroit’s summer concert calendar continues to heat up.
Four Pine Knob Music Theatre shows were announced Monday, March 23, as the popular Clarkston amphitheater gears up for its season launch in May.
Here is what’s new:
∎ A year after playing Detroit on its ongoing farewell tour, fabled hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan will play Pine Knob on Sept. 6, this time with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in the opening spot. The show is part of a new batch of dates just added to Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber Tour, which crisscrossed the globe last year.
Tickets for Wu-Tang’s Pine Knob show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, through Ticketmaster, following presale opportunities for Citi and Mastercard users starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24.
∎ Pop singer-songwriter Kesha will make her latest Pine Knob appearance with a June 5 visit, part of her just-announced Freedom Tour. Chromeo and Sizzy Rocket will open. The tour will also play Grand Rapids’ new Acrisure Amphitheater on Aug. 26, with Chromeo and Erika Jayne in support.
Tickets for Kesha’s Michigan shows and other tour dates will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster, following a presale window for Citi cardholders that starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
∎ TLC and Salt-N-Pepa are teaming up for their first co-headlining tour, dubbed “It’s Iconic,” with En Vogue tapped as opener for a blast of ’90s nostalgia. The tour will play Pine Knob on Aug. 23, with a date at Grand Rapids’ Acrisure Amphitheater on Sept. 3.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday through Ticketmaster, following a presale for Citi cardholders that runs 10 a.m. Tuesday through 10 p.m. Wednesday.
∎ A co-headlining run from perennial rock favorites 311 and Dirty Heads will bring them to Pine Knob on July 30, following a stop at Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids on July 28. Both dates will feature Ocean Alley and Rome as openers.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster, following presales for fan club members and Citi cardholders starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
