It appears Margot Robbie is officially eschewing her Emily Brontë era.
Earlier this year, while promoting her new film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, the Academy Award-nominated actor and method dressing maven leaned into Victorian-style fashion, with everything from corsets upon corsets to brocade jackets and bracelets made out of hair (all with a very 21st century twist, of course).
But now, it seems Robbie is ready to close the book on that fashion chapter. Over the weekend, the LuckyChap Entertainment co-founder was spotted heading into the Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood in a look that screamed indie sleaze.
With her new choppy bob on full display, Robbie slipped into a strapless black minidress from With Jéan. The design was defined by its gathered folds and a ruffled, rounded elastic hem up top. And it was given a bit of a grungy edge thanks to two skinny studded belts with silver hardware cinching the waist (stacking beltsis hot right now, after all).
To match her dress, Robbie slipped into a pair of black leather moto boots from Khaite. And in the crook of her arm, she carried a chestnut-brown leather jacket from Petar Petrov, which seemed more like a cool-girl touch, as she evidently didn’t need to wear it in the spring California heat.
For a couple finishing touches, the actor carried a chain-strap shoulder bag and put on a few rings from Chanel (for which she recently starred in a new pop princess-inspired campaign), while also sporting a pair of black metal-frame sunglasses from Persol.
It’s 2026, but Robbie’s style has managed to travel in time from the 1800s straight to the early aughts. We love to see it.
