Jenny McCarthy is opening up about the devastating health issues that caused her to go through “six months of living hell.”
The former model and TV host, 53, who rose to fame on MTV’s Singled Out, is now known for her role as a judge on The Masked Singer. Married to New Kids on the Block alum Donnie Wahlberg, McCarthy has been living her best life… for the most part. But a horrific health issue stemming from “an infected root canal” that “wasn’t cleaned out all the way” left McCarthy to go through an absolute nightmare.
In a preview clip published by Us Weekly of the upcoming episode of the “Heal Squad” podcast, hosted by Maria Menounos, McCarthy shared how the dental nightmare began.
“The last time I was here, I was literally on my way to the biological dentist because I had gone through six months of living hell,” she shared, noting that she got a jawbone infection with “three of these little toxic pools hiding underneath my wisdom teeth.”
To make matters worse, she started to have “growths on my eye,” which she describes as looking like the “nastiest whitehead, puss-filled eraser top.”
“I’m like, ‘What the heck is this?’ They’re like you’re not washing your eyes enough. I’m like bulls***,” McCarthy recalled.
What Did McCarthy’s Doctor Tell Her?
Soon, McCarthy’s doctor figured out what the root of her issues was.
“The reason why you’re having constant infections, your body won’t heal, you’re oozing things, is because you have mold. You have mycotoxin poisoning,” her doctor told her, noting that the type of mold she has can cause seizures. “Mold releases this toxin in the dust particles, and what happens is most people … with good immune systems can handle it. People with weaker immune systems, people with leaky gut, candida, things I am already fighting [can ’t].”
Because she is antibiotic-resistant, her body couldn’t fight off all those infections, despite taking a laundry list of antibiotics. Now, McCarthy is dealing with the infections by being “on a heavy-duty mold protocol.”
