Raye has apologised to fans who purchased her new album, This Music May Contain Hope, on vinyl format after a mishap with the final mix.

The ‘Where is My Husband’ singer bemoaned the “beautiful but agonising” process of making her latest LP.

Speaking to Zane Lowe, the star began, “My vinyl is a first edition. I really apologise… I’m apologising to anyone who’s purchased an album.”

She explained that the vinyl was pressed before the mix was finalised, giving vinyl listeners a “first edition” that is notably different from the streaming version of the tracks.

The Brit Award-winner was quick to add, “You are getting the album. It’s not a fraudulent album. However, it is a first edition. I want you to know the digital versions of some of these songs — some are quite different.”

Raye approached the matter as a realist, sharing defiantly, “And you just need to embrace that because I tried my best.” Later, she deemed the writing and recording process “a labour of absolute passion and love.”

This is Raye’s second apology in as many months for matters out of her hands. The singer-songwriter also apologised to fans in Paris after an error made by Ticketmaster, which saw 65 ticket holders denied entry to one of her shows.

Though the situation was entirely out of her control, the star offered all of those impacted “who didn’t get into the show complimentary tickets to any Raye future show of their choice and a signed vinyl.”

Raye is currently in the midst of a 40-date tour celebrating the new project. Providing direct support throughout the entire tour, her younger sisters, Absolutely and Amma, have joined the ‘Oscar Winning Tears‘ singer for the global trek.

In a glowing five-star review of her second LP, Far Out observed, “In allowing the listener to give themselves over to its majesty, theatrical magic, and ultimate exhilaration, there’s nothing that stands in the way of its symphonic power. A rich orchestral backing is the only option – but Raye already knows that.”
