Music nights, manor tours and expanded volunteer roles planned through October

The Quail Hollow Volunteer Association will host summer music nights, manor tours and expanded volunteer opportunities from May through October.

The Quail Hollow Volunteer Association has announced several events for the summer months beginning in May. Traditional Music Nights will again take place each first and third Thursday of each month from May through October, 6-9 p.m., at the historic H.B. Stewart Manor House, 13480 Congress Lake Ave., Hartville.

Individuals can bring an instrument to join in or just enjoy listening to traditional, bluegrass and Celtic tunes. The 2026 dates are May 7 and 21, June 4 and 18, July 2 and 16, Aug. 6 and 20, Sept. 3 and 17, and Oct. 1 and 15. The donation is $3, and the program is presented by Stark Parks and QHVA. Volunteering is available so participants can enjoy the evenings while listening to music at the same time.

Visitors can also enjoy a guided tour of the historic 1920s home to see secret rooms and hidden safes and hear stories of the Stewart family. Tours start promptly and last approximately one hour. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family, and ages 3 and under are free. No reservations are needed; walk-ins only. Note that the house has no elevator, so guests must navigate stairs to view rooms on three levels.

The 2026 tour schedule includes Sunday tours at 2 p.m. on May 10, June 14, July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13. Tours will also be given on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. on May 14, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13 and Sept. 10.

Now is a great time to volunteer. QHVA is doubling the days for gardening, with work in the Rock Garden on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, and in the Manor House garden beds on Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteer opportunities also include serving as a tour guide for the Stewart Manor House, helping decorate the life-sized dollhouse, assisting with special events and vintage teas, and working on year-round projects.

QHVA offers tailored opportunities for each volunteer. For more information, contact [email protected].
