A planned $50 million entertainment destination in downtown Clearwater is advancing, with new details showing a cinema-anchored project designed to drive activity in the city’s core.
Plans include a seven-screen multiplex anchored by a more than 130-foot screen described as the largest in the world. Each auditorium will feature both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, positioning the venue as a high-end theater experience.
The project will serve as the flagship location for EVO Entertainment, which combines movie theaters with dining and interactive attractions. The concept brings cinema, food and entertainment into a single venue aimed at drawing consistent foot traffic downtown.
The development is part of a broader effort to reshape the Cleveland Street corridor and expand the district’s appeal to residents and visitors. It is expected to support nearby retail and hospitality uses while extending activity beyond traditional business hours.

The main auditorium will be built around a Dolby cinema system engineered for the scale of the screen, reflecting how theater operators are investing in premium formats as they compete with at-home streaming.
The Cleveland Street Alliance, which has been involved in downtown redevelopment efforts, said the project is intended to increase activity within the urban core.
Developers did not release a construction timeline or opening date.
The project is part of broader efforts to reposition downtown Clearwater, where city leaders and private groups are working to increase residential density, expand entertainment offerings and strengthen long-term economic activity.
