Jack Antonoff condemned the “vultures” who gathered outside his 2023 wedding to Margaret Qualley
In a new SiriusXM interview, the Bleachers frontman clarified that fans of his music were not among those lurking outside

Jack Antonoff is condemning the “vultures” who gathered outside his wedding.
The producer and Bleachers frontman, 42, reflected on the chaotic scene outside his 2023 wedding to actress Margaret Qualley during an appearance on SiriusXM Hits 1.
The newlyweds still had a grand night alongside their loved ones, Antonoff said — despite what he previously called “dips— palooza” transpiring outside the wedding’s closed doors.
Antonoff clarified that the unwelcome onlookers in question were not fans of his or the Bleachers, nor were they fans of anyone celebrating inside.
“So there’s the people who love your music. Right? Those are the best people. Well, I’m in a conversation with them,” he began. “There’s the people who are interested on a bigger level … Sort of like the aunt at the family gathering like, ‘What’s it like to play in front of people?’ You’re like, ‘That’s cool. I’ll tell you, Judy,’ you know, who are just fascinated.”

“And then there’s the dips— palooza, which is — those are the vultures,” he said.
In a message about Bleachers’ song “Dirty Wedding Dress” months after his wedding, Antonoff defended the fans of his work. “I know them when I see them,” he wrote in the message sent to the Bleachers’ mailing list, and it was clear to him that those lurking outside his wedding were “just run of the mill dips—s coming to stare at people.”
Still, he noted in the message, the couple and their guests almost didn’t notice the crowd, and the special night proceeded normally despite the commotion outside.
“That’s the thing about closing doors. What happens on the other side doesn’t really matter if the people you let in are the right ones,” he wrote. “I felt stunned by how it didn’t affect us at all.”
Antonoff noted the people who stood outside his wedding served as a a metaphor also applicable to his shows and music.
“That’s what’s so beautiful, and that’s what I thought about my shows and my audience and my wedding too,” Antonoff said on SiriusXM. “It’s sort of like those people are transient, and it was kind of an amazing poetic experience how there was a crowd outside — and once again, that’s not like the fans of the music, that’s the other people — and we didn’t even know they were there.”

On Aug. 19, 2023, Antonoff and Qualley tied the knot in a ceremony in New Jersey, alongside celebrity guests including Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.
