((Head)) Window to sign up for Open Studios is closing

ASTORIA—The deadline to be considered a participating artist in Astoria Visual Arts’ Open Studio Tour which takes place Saturday and Sunday July 25 and 26 will be closing May 1. Artist studios must be open to the public both days from 11 a.m. to 5p.m. and artists must reside or have a studio space located within the zip code 97103. The cost to participate is $50 per artist or $30 for Astoria Visual Arts members. The number of participating artists is limited to 50 and artists must register online at astoriavisualarts.org. If online registration or the registration fee is a barrier for signing up, please email [email protected] or call 503-791-0575.
The aim of the studio tour is designed to promote and support Astoria artists, encourage tourism and enrich the community. Professional and emerging artists of all ages can enjoy the free public event and visitors get to meet the makers and see a close-up view of their techniques and media. Artists get to connect with patrons, network with visitors and expand their audience. 100% of sales are retained by artists made from their studios during the event and artists are also invited to submit work to be included in a group exhibit at the Astoria Visual Arts Gallery during the month of July. A free, full-color tour guide booklet featuring all participating artists is published with support from the City of Astoria’s Arts and Culture Tourism Fund.
