The Bachelorette star, who led season 15 of the reality dating series, revealed the news on Tuesday, posting a video of herself resting in bed with a soda and stuffed animal as Justin Bieber’s “Everything Hallelujah” played in the background.
“Doing what I put off for years: hallelujah,” she wrote over her clip on Instagram. “Successful surgery: hallelujah. Family planning era: hallelujah. My mom being my superhero: hallelujah. Matching PJ sets: hallelujah. Disposable underwear: hallelujah. Naps and Netflix: hallelujah.”
Brown also added a lengthy caption detailing her surgery, which she said she’d “been putting off for a while.”
“A few years ago, after being diagnosed with PCOS [Polycystic Ovary Syndrome] and getting an ultrasound for the first time, I found out I have an abnormal uterus,” she wrote. “At first they thought it was a didelphys uterus” — a rare congenital condition in which a person is born with two separate uteri — “but later confirmed it’s a bicorporeal septate uterus. Basically, my uterus is kind of separated into two sides, and that can lead to infertility issues. The good news is, it’s something that can be treated with surgery.”

Brown added that she knew she’d have to have the procedure before trying to get pregnant but that her life had been busy, as she recently moved into a new house, planned a wedding, and wrote her latest book, Reasons to Be Loved by You.
Brown married Adam Woolard, her partner since 2020, in France last July.
“I still don’t know if I’m ready [to have children] (does anyone ever fully feel ready?!), but it felt like time to take a first step — and this was that for me,” Brown wrote in her post. “I also know how fortunate I am to have found this out ahead of time. So many women walk through loss and disappointment before getting answers, and that’s not lost on me. Thank you to those who have shared your stories with me and encouraged me to share mine.”

Brown added that recovery has been “pretty smooth” and that her husband and parents are taking care of her.
Bachelor Nation seems to be rallying around her, too, as fellow alums, including Juliana Pasquarosa and Kaitlyn Bristowe, shared their support. “Here if you need anything ❤️,” Bristowe wrote.
Since appearing on The Bachelorette, Brown has competed on — and won — season 28 of Dancing With the Stars, served as a relationship mentor of sorts on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise, and guest-judged HGTV’s Bachelor Mansion Takeover in March.
