Jesse Watters faced backlash on social media after he commented on U.S. House Representative Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) previous marriages.
The Fox News host, 47, discussed a fraud scandal in Minnesota with his The Five co-hosts. He turned his attention to Omar, who represents the state’s 5th Congressional District. “Omar has been married three times. What do you say about a woman who has been married three times? I’ll tell you later,” Watters said. The comment sparked unhappy replies from X users.
“Trump’s been married three times and he’s cheated on all his wives. What does that say?” wrote another user, questioning Watters’ denouncement of Omar when President Trump, too, has had three marriages.
One critic pointed to Watters’ own marriages, posting, “That her first 2 marriages didn’t work out.I doubt she made a move like creepy-a– Jesse letting the tire air out of an intern’s tires so she’d need a ride. His then-wife & mother of his children proceeded to divorce him, and within the year married the intern. Gross.”
Watters previously came under fire for a predatory tactic he reportedly used when wooing his current wife, Emma DiGiovine.
Watters once said on an episode of The Five that he “let the air out of” DiGiovine’s car tires one night as he was “trying to get [her] to date him.” He offered her a ride as she “couldn’t go anywhere” and she “hopped right in the car.”
“It has a happy ending. We’re married!” he added.
After facing backlash for the story, he has since stated that the scenario was a joke.
“I never deflated anyone’s tires,” Watters claimed, backtracking on his previous anecdote.
“Married 3 times – Trump, Hegseth, RFK. Your glass house is shrinking,” posted one disgruntled viewer on X, pointing out the hypocrisy in Watters’ jab at Rep. Omar.
Another user dug their claws into Watters, writing “@JesseBWatters is this you? Jesse Watters cheated on wife #1 with wife #2. I don’t think you can talk about anyone being married multiple times, especially since YOU’RE A CHEATER just like your MAGA cult leader. You should sit this one out.”
