Two familiar faces from a Korean reality dating show featuring celebrities’ children are drawing fresh attention after advancing to the finals of the 70th Miss Korea pageant.
Woo Seo-yoon, daughter of former basketball player Woo Ji-won, and Jeon Su-wan, daughter of former basketball player Jeon Hee-chul, both earned top honors at the Miss Seoul-Gyeonggi-Incheon preliminary competition held Wednesday in Seoul.
The pair previously gained public recognition through tvN STORY’s reality series “When Our Kids Fall in Love,” which follows the dating lives of celebrities’ children while their parents watch from the studio.
Their success at the regional competition has sparked interest online, with many viewers noting that two of the show’s standout visual stars have now secured spots on one of Korea’s most prestigious beauty pageant stages.
Woo was named Sun, the first runner-up title in the Miss Korea system. She previously appeared on SBS variety show “Star Junior Show Bungeoppang” and tvN’s “Leaving the Nest Season 3” before attracting renewed attention through the second season of “When Our Kids Fall in Love,” which concluded in April.
She is currently studying fine arts at Tufts University in the United States.
Jeon, meanwhile, received the title of Mi, one of the competition’s top distinctions. A dance major at Sejong University, she appeared in the first season of “When Our Kids Fall in Love” and became a fan favorite after forming the show’s final couple with Lee Tak-soo, son of actor Lee Jong-hyuk.
Following the competition, Jeon shared a photo holding her trophy on social media.
“I won the Mi title at Miss Seoul-Gyeonggi-Incheon. Thank you,” she wrote.
With both reality TV personalities now headed to the national stage, fans are watching to see whether their popularity and pageant success will continue.
The finals of the 70th Miss Korea pageant are scheduled for Aug. 22.
