The royal family will be extra busy in June

Royal wedding lined up for early summer but there's a slight hiccup in arrangements

June is always a busy month for the Royal Family but they’re
taking it to the max this time round. The month will start with a
royal wedding and could well end with a major reveal that everyone
is waiting for. Settle down, here is how June maps out for the
royals.

The wedding of the year

Pretty much the whole House of Windsor is expected to pack into
a small church just outside Cirencester as June gets under way to
witness the marriage of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling.

The son of the Princess Royal, and eldest grandchild of Queen
Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, is set to wed the NHS nurse at All
Saints Church, Kemble which was founded on land given by Cedwalla,
King of Wessex in 682 and which will now welcome King Charles III
who is due to attend the nuptials of his nephew.

Horses ahoy

Whether Charles will be at the reception, at Anne’s home of
Gatcombe Park, later remains to be seen. HM is quite possibly on
the buffet list but will be missing the sit down dinner as he and
Queen Camilla are due at the Epsom Derby on the afternoon of June
6.

It’s been confirmed that Their Majesties will attend the
prestigious horse race, also much beloved of Queen Elizabeth II.
It’s a decent two hour drive, even with police outriders, so a
return for the wedding disco might be off the cards.

Ascot beckons

The King and Queen will also lead the Royal Family at one of the
social events of the year, Royal Ascot. The carriage procession
from Windsor Castle to the race course is a staple of the summer
and King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to attend most days
of the meeting which runs from June 16 to June 20 this year.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are also expected at least once
and there’s no doubt Princess Anne and her husband. Sir TIm
Laurence, will also be in attendance. There’s interest, too, in
whether Princess Beatrice is seen with the royal party. Earlier in
2026, it was reported that she and her sister, Princess Eugenie,
wouldn’t be at Ascot as the royal sought to keep their distance
from the House of York. However, the recent decision by Buckingham
Palace to officially announce Eugenie’s third pregnancy has been
seen as a vote of confidence in the princesses. And while Eugenie’s
great expectations will likely keep her away (baby is due in the
summer but no more precise date than that has been given), Beatrice
could yet join the royals at Ascot.

The ancient tradition that will bring
out the royals

Just before Royal Ascot starts, one of the oldest of all royal
traditions takes place. On June 15, King Charles will lead the
members of the Noble Order of the Garter in procession to St.
George’s Chapel, Windsor for their annual service.

With many senior royals, including Queen Camilla and Prince
William, members of the Order, this will be a really regal turnout
and will bring big crowds to Windsor. They’ll be treated to a
carriage procession which will likely see the Princess of Wales
join her husband as the ancient tradition continues to unfold.

Trooping the Colour

Less that 48 hours earlier, the whole Royal Family is also
expected at another traditional event. June 13 is the King’s
Official Birthday this year and that means only one thing: Trooping
the Colour.

The Sovereign’s Birthday Parade takes place at Horse Guards
Parade. King Charles is expected to travel there by carriage with
Queen Camilla while the Prince of Wales will ride at the head of
the military procession for the parade. The King’s Company, 1st
Battalion Grenadier Guards will troop their colour.

Then it’s everyone back to Buckingham Palace for the flypast and
the balcony appearance. And that means just one thing – Prince
Louis, set to bring a smile to everyone except his brother and
sister who will be pretending they’re not with him. Again.

The big royal reveal

However, Prince George may well find himself at the centre of
royal news this month. The 12 year old is set to leave his prep
school, Lambrook, at the end of this academic year and head to
secondary school in September. Everyone wants to know where George
will continue his education and June could well be the month we
find out.

Eton, Marlborough and Oundle have all been suggested. And with
Prince William revealing that George has already tried out boarding
at Lambrook, all options are on the table. In a very royal month,
it might be all about a future king.
