AT&T, Cisco, and LiveOne announced an expansion of AT&T’s Connected Car™ platform.

The collaboration supports premium in-vehicle entertainment through simplified integration for automotive OEMs, powered by AT&T’s wireless network, Cisco’s innovative multi-party billing capabilities, and premium content from LiveOne and its subsidiary Slacker Radio.

AT&T’s Connected Car platform serves as the foundation for AT&T’s in-vehicle infotainment strategy, using AT&T’s network as the backbone to support a range of connected entertainment experiences delivered through multiple strategic relationships. AT&T works with a growing set of content and technology companies, including its strategic relationship with iM Media Labs’ OEM-native platform, which helps automakers unify multiple types of content into a branded in-vehicle experience. The new offering with LiveOne strengthens AT&T’s ecosystem, giving automakers flexibility in how they design and deploy in-vehicle entertainment.

As part of the offering, LiveOne’s Slacker Radio will be available as a bundled option in select vehicles connected by AT&T. Subscribers can enjoy uninterrupted streaming of personalized stations, expertly curated playlists, and live content, all powered by AT&T’s reliable mobile network. Because connectivity is already integrated through AT&T’s platform, entertainment providers like LiveOne can approach OEMs with a ready-to-deploy service, whether delivered as a standalone experience or as part of a broader in-vehicle entertainment offering, eliminating the need for automakers to consider the incremental data usage associated with such offerings.

AT&T’s platform-based approach reduces complexity for OEMs by eliminating the need for multiple integrations and billing relationships, making it easier to bundle and manage in-vehicle entertainment services as part of connected vehicle offerings. Through Cisco’s SIM management platform’s multi-party billing capabilities, AT&T can collaborate with content providers and independently manage their connectivity and service relationships on the same embedded SIM in the vehicle. This better allows connectivity and content services to scale more efficiently across vehicles. Whether automakers choose to deploy individual content experiences or incorporate them into broader bundled offerings, such as the iM Media Hub, AT&T’s Connected Car platform provides a single interface through which content providers and OEMs solutions can be deployed and scale the infotainment experiences that best fit their vehicles and customers.

More than 60 of the top global automotive brands trust AT&T with their connectivity needs. LiveOne’s Slacker Radio joins a growing group of in-vehicle entertainment providers, including iM Media Labs platform and SiriusXM’s advanced 360L technology, who work with AT&T to help reach automakers and deliver in-vehicle experiences at scale.

Matt Harden, vice president, Connected Solutions at AT&T

Our Connected Car platform is built to help automakers move faster to scale and personalize digital experiences more easily. By enabling direct connectivity relationships between AT&T and entertainment providers, we help OEMs deploy services faster without needing to manage separate connectivity integrations, while also allowing content providers to bring turnkey, connected experiences to automakers.

Bradley Konkol, head of LiveOne’s Slacker Radio

Working with AT&T allows us to bring LiveOne’s unique music experience to millions of drivers nationwide. With connectivity already built into the platform, we can focus on delivering best-in-class audio curation while simplifying how we integrate with automakers.

Darin Kaufman, vice president of Product Management, Cisco Mobility

Cisco’s multi-party billing capabilities help streamline how ecosystem partners work together. Through our work together, we’re enabling opportunities for AT&T to better collaborate with OEMs to support new business models while creating simpler and faster paths to an elevated driver experience.
