Taylor Swift had a lucky charm with her for her recent red carpet appearance.
On June 9, the superstar, 36, returned to the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Toy Story 5, the film in which she sings “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Her outfit was riddled with Easter eggs nodding to the iconic Disney-Pixar franchise, but one part of her look held extra special meaning.
As pointed out by Elle, Swift’s horseshoe charm necklace was first worn by the singer on April 27 when she was photographed in New York City. At that point, Swift’s collaboration with the movie had not yet been announced, but if any fans had any sneaky suspicions about her new song, they were proved right this week when Swift stepped out in the accessory.

And while there hasn’t been any confirmed reason Swift decided to rewear the particular piece, it’s likely a nod to cowgirl Jessie (and her pal Bullseye), the character that inspired Swift’s track.
After all, when “I Knew It, I Knew You” was released on June 5, Swift took to Instagram with a message about her connection with Jessie.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond,” she wrote alongside a childhood video of her wearing her own cowgirl outfit.

For her appearance on the starry and nostalgic red carpet — which was attended by Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack — Swift wore an embellished off-the-shoulder Erdem creation with brown sandal heels. The entire ensemble, including her romantic half-up hairstyle and coral-red lipstick, channeled the likes of Bo Peep.

Further in the evening, Swift changed into a bright yellow floor-length dress adorned with flower appliqués for her onstage performance of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with original artist Randy Newman.
Throughout the night, Swift showed her fangirl side as she mingled with the cast. During the event, the Grammy winner carried an old VHS copy of the original Toy Story movie from 1995 under her arm as she posed on the red carpet. The singer, who is set to wed NFL star Travis Kelce soon, was later captured having the movie’s stars sign it for her.
Hanks later told USA Today about the encounter. “I told her she should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed it as that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well,” he joked.
