Adulthood is strictly optional this July. Palms Casino Resort is debuting Camp Palms: No Kids Allowed, a month-long immersive pop-up that plants a grown-up summer camp squarely on the casino floor — and leaves the kids at home where they belong.
Running July 1–31 near Scotch 80 Prime, the activation draws its spirit from the irreverent energy of classic 1980s summer camp comedies, trading bug spray and bunk beds for craft cocktails and campfire chaos. The experience is exclusive to guests 21 and older, with no cover charge and first-come, first-served seating. Doors open at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
ThemeDream Productions President and CXO Donovan Friedman described the vision behind the concept: “Camp Palms celebrates everything people loved about summer camp — the friendships, the freedom, the laughter and the memories — while adding a distinctly adult twist. We wanted to create a place where guests can disconnect from reality, embrace their inner camper and experience a night filled with nostalgia, comedy and unforgettable moments.”
Guests step into a faux wilderness outfitted with towering pines, lake views and campfire hangouts, where walk-around characters pull them into games, sing-alongs and talent contests. The ensemble cast includes Camp Director Larry, counselors Sandy and Brad, Nurse Candy, Ranger Rick, Tokey the Bear, and the fan-favorite Dumpster Dave the Raccoon — with the occasional unconfirmed Bigfoot sighting.
The menu leans into camp comfort food, including campfire surf and turf with Wagyu chili, Wakey Wakey Bakey Bakey bacon-and-egg bites, camp dawgs, and s’mores-inspired desserts. Cocktails include Bigfoot’s Watermelon Smash and Camp Counselor’s Therapy, among others. Sing-alongs spotlight late-’70s and early-’80s hits engineered for maximum nostalgia. The camp’s official creed — “Booze, S’mores & Bad Decisions” — sets the tone for what organizers promise will be the least supervised place on Earth.
