Meta’s Kylie Jenner-branded AI smart glasses isn’t selling people on the idea of surveillance chic.
Weeks after Facebook’s parent company launched its wearable tech collab with the social media mega-star, the protest collective Everyone Hates Elon blasted the “fascist” tech accessories in a new campaign right down the road from Meta’s London headquarters.
Refusing to ignore the dystopian side of the video-enabled specs, the group installed holographic dupes of Jenner’s glam glasses ads that revealed the warning “we’re always watching” when seen head-on.
The anti-billionaire activists posted their handiwork on Instagram Monday, using the caption to ask, “Recording everything we see and do constantly? It’s giving fascism, not fashion, @kyliejenner hun.”
Pointing out Meta’s plans to make the $399 glasses “continuously record audio while taking photos every few seconds” without any warning light, as reported by the Financial Times last week, the group said, “Literally NO ONE asked for this.”

A spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon ripped the “fascist glasses” in a statement to celebrity.land, calling out Meta for creating a product with no safeguards to protect people from being recorded without their consent.
“Meta and Rayban’s new AI glasses can be used to secretly record women and young people for sexual reasons. Simply put, that’s abuse,” they said.
Reminding everyone of the tech giant’s shady record around digital privacy, they added, “Meta has spent years tracking us online. Now it wants to track us in the real world too.”
“Billionaires could fund cures for cancer ― so why are they funding glasses for perverts instead?”
Everyone Hates Elon, which made headlines with a savage campaign slamming Jeff Bezos’ part in this year’s Met Gala, isn’t alone in its criticism.
Singer Lorde joined the chorus of wearable tech skeptics while performing at Madrid’s Mad Cool festival last Thursday, though she didn’t mention Jenner by name.
“Increasingly, in our world, it gets harder and harder to know what is real,” the “Melodrama” artist told fans. “Can I just say, for the record, fuck the glasses. Don’t get the glasses. Not sexy.”
