Kacey Musgraves has unveiled the official music video for her latest single, ‘Mexico Honey’, bringing the sultry standout from her acclaimed sixth studio album ‘Middle of Nowhere’ vividly to life.

Filmed on location in Mexico and directed by Running Bear, the creative duo of Alexa Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos, the cinematic visual serves as both a celebration of the song’s sensual atmosphere and a love letter to the country that inspired it. For Musgraves, the video captures not only the passion at the heart of ‘Mexico Honey’ but also pays tribute to Mexico’s breathtaking landscapes, culture and the personal experiences that have shaped her connection to it.

‘Mexico Honey’ continues the momentum behind ‘Middle of Nowhere,. which was released in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Top Album chart. The record has been widely praised by critics, earning places on numerous mid-year ‘best albums’ lists from publications including Billboard, Rolling Stone, NPR, Variety, Elle, Esquire and Flood.

Produced by Musgraves alongside longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, ‘Middle of Nowhere’ blends classic country influences with the singer-songwriter’s trademark wit, introspection and fearless honesty. The album’s lead single, ‘Dry Spell’, introduced the project with its sharp humour and contemporary take on traditional country sounds, while the title track drew inspiration from a roadside sign in Musgraves’ hometown of Golden, Texas, which proudly declares the tiny community as “Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere.”

That phrase ultimately became the emotional foundation for the album, reflecting a period of solitude and self-discovery while embracing the sounds, stories and perspectives that have shaped Musgraves throughout her career.
