The November festival will spotlight several high-profile adaptations, including an animated version of Ying Chang Compestine’s horror story collection “A Banquet for Hungry Ghosts” and a series based on Yang Shuang-zi’s National Book Award-winning “Taiwan Travelogue.” Other notable selections include projects adapted from works by Higashiyama Akira and a new documentary from Berlinale Teddy Award recipient Huang Hui-chen.
This year’s submission pool demonstrated Tccf’s expanding international reach, with entries from 44 nations totaling nearly 700 projects. International submissions and Taiwan co-productions represented 60% of all entries, with Japan, Thailand, the U.S., South Korea and Singapore leading foreign participation after Taiwan.
The festival’s selection committee chose 94 projects across multiple categories after evaluating commercial viability, adaptation potential and international collaboration opportunities.
